i
e desired information could be telegraphed on the first of the month ith a view to official publication in this Department's monthly statistice
If the difficulty of making such an arrangement is considered insuperable, I am to inquire whether it would be possible to arrange for Fa telegram to be despatched, say, on the last day of any given month,
iving the shipments of tin for one whole month up to the latest possible ate in that month. Such an arrangement, which would serve the purposes Ff this Department sufficiently well, would for instance, enable this
Department to include in March statistics, which would be issued within The first 2 or 3 days of April, the figures for one month's shipments from Hong Kong between, say, February 25th and March 25th.
The information required should be in some such form as follows:-
Shipments of tin from Hong Kong:-
To United Kingdom
United States
Other countries
300 tons 100
500
This Exchange would, of course, be prepared to defray the cost of ending the telegrams from Hong Kong.
Yours faithfully,
4. V. Bacon
Head of Department.
